Made for GMTK Game Jam 2020, a competition to create a game based on the theme “Out of Control” in 48 hours.
All the art for this game was made by me, during the competition period. While the mechanics of the game are similar to arcade shoot-em-ups, the direction for the game was to stand out with a unique concept for the player and an art style that reflected that. The backgrounds are an abstract journey in color and texture, and the sprites are strange moving representations of common mental blocks. I worked closely with the designer, composer, and the programmer to create artwork that reflected the game play, a cohesive experience, and was practical and usable within the short time frame.
